Speaking as someone whose local library's lesbian stock begins and ends with a battered copy of an old KD Laing CD, it's with considerable chagrin that I read about Bentonville, Arkansas.

It seems that not only has this small outpost of the American dream been receiving the latest orders of lesbian erotica, but the locals have actually been complaining about this piece of good fortune. People like this man who is suing the city for $20,000 after his two teenage sons found a book on lesbian sex, The Whole Lesbian Sex Book, by Felice Newman, on a library bookshelf.

Earl Adams says his sons were "greatly disturbed" after finding the book, which, he claims, caused "many sleepless nights in our house." Indeed.
