Living with four gaydar addicted boys can be a real insight into the gender divide when it comes to using the net to hook up. Now, I'm not saying that girls don't cruise sites like gaydargirls or girlsweb for 'no strings' fun, however the boys take it to a whole different level.
As one of my friends told me, 'you've got to use the criteria: Could I date him? Would I shag him? Should I block him (from sending any more messages)?' It seems so harsh, but maybe it's a lot more honest than the 'let's be friends' messages we send to girls we have no intention of either befriending or bedding.
